About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and technical leader to deliver data products and AI applications that accelerate Immunology research and development. The role reports to the Vice President, Immunology and Cardiopulmonary, DSDH, and leads a team to build foundational enterprise data products, deploy scalable AI models, and integrate internal and external Immunology data assets into the company’s R&D data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team to develop technical requirements for Immunology‑focused data products that enable AI applications.
- Attract, upskill, and retain top talent; manage a technical team and collaborate with stakeholders in R&D, DSDH, and Johnson & Johnson Technology.
- Define and maintain a roadmap for Immunology data products across discovery, translational research, clinical development, and real‑world evidence.
- Partner with Knowledge Management, Data Platforms & Governance, and Master Data Management to ensure seamless integration into enterprise ontologies, knowledge graphs, and catalogs.
- Develop and deploy impactful AI solutions for Immunology in collaboration with business partners.
- Contribute to the governance of an Immunology Ontology for semantic consistency across data types.
- Establish governance models, agile delivery processes, and value‑tracking metrics for data products and AI tools.
- Champion data literacy and adoption within the Immunology therapeutic area.
- Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Biomedical engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of post‑academic, industry, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with diverse, high‑dimensional data sets such as multi‑modal Immunology data (omics, imaging, translational, clinical trial, RWE).
- Proven track record of creating scalable, high‑impact data‑driven solutions and managing their full life cycle.
- Strong people‑leadership experience and ability to work in a matrixed organization.
- Deep knowledge of data products, database design, data transformation/mapping.
- Excellent communication skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Experience in the Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Medical‑Tech sector.
- Experience with Immunology Ontology and enterprise metadata standards (e.g., CDISC, GA4GH, FHIR, NCI Thesaurus).
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new data capabilities across a complex organization.
- Experience with budget management, business alignment, compliance, consulting, critical thinking, data privacy standards, data quality, data reporting, data visualization, and digital fluency.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $196,000 to $342,700, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Employees may participate in company‑sponsored health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, legal insurance, retirement, and time‑off benefits.
Location and TravelThis position is located on‑site in one of the following campuses:
Spring House, PA;
Cambridge, MA;
Titusville, NJ;
Raritan, NJ; or San Diego, CA. Occasional travel for workshops and meetings may be required.
