Leadership Opportunity in Resiliency Architecture & Testing

Join the Resiliency Architecture & Testing organization as the leader responsible for Gatekeeper and Enterprise Health Check (EHC), two enterprise-scale products that support Vanguard's technology ecosystem. In this role, you will lead a team focused on enabling feature toggling capabilities, advancing multi-region resiliency initiatives, and supporting the software delivery experience across the enterprise. This position combines people leadership, product ownership, and delivery leadership.

You will define product strategy and roadmap priorities, partner with stakeholders across CTO and the broader enterprise, and ensure successful execution against key business and technology objectives. While the role requires strong technical credibility, the primary focus is leading teams, driving outcomes, and shaping the future direction of these critical platforms. This position is well suited for an engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of product ownership, technology strategy, and delivery execution.

The role provides exposure to strategic initiatives, broad stakeholder engagement, and ownership of products that deliver value across Vanguard's technology landscape.

We're looking for a technology leader to lead two enterprise platforms that help Vanguard deliver resilient, reliable software se platforms support critical capabilities including feature management, deployment risk reduction, and multi-region resiliency across our technology ecosystem.

In this role, you'll combine people leadership, product strategy, and delivery execution to help shape the future of these enterprise capabilities. You'll lead a team of engineers, define product roadmaps, partner with stakeholders across the organization, and drive execution against strategic priorities. Success in this role requires the ability to balance operational excellence with long-term product evolution while influencing technical and business partners across a complex enterprise environment.

This position is ideal for a leader with a background in software engineering, platform engineering, product delivery, or technical leadership who enjoys developing talent, driving execution, and making informed technology decisions that create broad organizational impact.

• Hires, evaluates, and supervises engineering crew. Provides coaching and development. Sets performance expectations, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures.
• Influences and coordinates work across global and matrixed engineering teams to achieve product and delivery objectives.
• Defines and owns the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for EHC and Gatekeeper products. Balances business priorities, user needs, and technical considerations to deliver high-impact outcomes.
• Partners with product, architecture, and engineering leaders. Ensures alignment with enterprise standards and promotes seamless adoption across teams.
• Drives innovation through the application of AI and automation, including enabling new interaction models such as agent-driven testing workflows and autonomous execution patterns.
• Communicates clearly with stakeholders on product direction, roadmap, and outcomes. Builds alignment and drives adoption through strong engagement and partnership.
• Oversees client support/consultations and general operational product support.
• Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in tooling, processes, and team effectiveness. Encourages learning through retrospectives, experimentation, and cross-team collaboration.

• Minimum of eight years related work experience, including prior experience in software engineering or technical product delivery environments
• Demonstrated experience leading technology teams, products, platforms, or delivery initiatives in a software engineering environment.
• Experience operating within modern software engineering environments, including cloud platforms, enterprise application architectures, system integrations, and contemporary software delivery practices (Agile, Dev Ops, CI/CD).
