Duties
* Administer, maintain, and manage an Army communications security (COMSEC) account, including Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and associated cryptographic material.
* Perform regular compliance audits, self-inspections, and security briefings to ensure all COMSEC and line items are accounted for and in compliance with established security directives.
* Provide accountability for COMSEC material through its entire lifecycle, including receipt, control, inventory, transfer, issue, reporting, safeguarding, and destruction in accordance with NSA, DOD, and Army regulations.
* Distribute and support cryptographic keys and Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) to local and remote mission partners, including other DoD organizations and allied nations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues with COMSEC hardware and software components, including performing system startups, reboots, and backups for network and standalone systems. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* Must obtain and maintain their professional and technical certifications as assigned and directed by applicable NSA, DOD and US Army requirements.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. Qualifications Who May Apply:
