Duties
* Resolve hardware and software interface or interoperability problems to ensure system functionality.
* Implement corrective actions in response to identified security events or system vulnerabilities.
* Perform the installation, testing, and maintenance of computer hardware and software systems.
* Manage the integration of system fixes, updates, and security enhancements to maintain system integrity.
* Apply information security policies and practices in the operation and maintenance of assigned systems. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
* Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* Must obtain and maintain the appropriate baseline and computing environment certifications IAW DoD 8570.1M within six months of being assigned to position.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. In addition to the four competencies listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service which includes : (1) Maintaining and troubleshooting information systems, to include applying system updates and resolving hardware or software interoperability problems;

(2) Assessing security events or system vulnerabilities to determine their impact and implement corrective actions; AND (3) Applying information security policies and practices to ensure the operational integrity and availability of assigned systems and networks.
