Overview

Cube Smart is looking for an Insurance Specialist to join our Legal team at our corporate office in Malvern, PA. In this role, you will support the Risk Management team with insurance renewals, policy administration, certificates of insurance, reporting, and day-to-day coordination across internal teams, brokers, carriers, and other business partners.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Risk Management throughout the insurance renewal process, including gathering exposure data, preparing underwriting information, and coordinating materials for brokers and
  • Collect, organize, and maintain company insurance policies, endorsements, and certificates of insurance from brokers and other partners.
  • Review insurance policies and develop a strong working understanding of policy terms, requirements, and documentation.
  • Assist with reviewing insurance requirements in contracts and coordinating follow-up as needed.
  • Partner with Accounting on the classification of capital expenses and other insurance-related financial matters.
  • Submit requests for reimbursement of insurance premiums from lender escrow accounts.
  • Maintain organized central files for loss runs, loss ratios, loss reserves, insurance documents, reports, correspondence, and related records.
  • Gather internal information needed for carrier audits, including insurance premium costs and cost allocation details.
  • Coordinate and distribute insurance auto  to internal stakeholders.
  • Work with Operations to maintain monthly updates for auto fleet additions and deletions.
  • Communicate store acquisitions and dispositions to relevant third parties, including required exposure information, workers’ compensation posters, certificates of insurance, and other information collected from internal teammates.
  • Manage the collection and tracking of certificates of insurance from third parties.
  • Coordinate with the Benefits team on workers’ compensation poster distribution.
  • Assist in securing compliant certificates of insurance from carriers, brokers, and third-party owners.
  • Maintain the tenant insurance tracker, including updates and payment processing for tenant insurance and protection plans.
  • Help ensure point-of-sale systems include the correct tenant protection forms.
  • Communicate store realignments to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process insurance-related invoices accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, memos, letters, and other documents as needed.
  • Manage timelines and deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Maintain, manage, and process a high volume of documents across multiple formats, including Microsoft Word and PDF.
  • Maintain calendars and assist with scheduling as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, board members, officers, and teammates at all levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements when needed.
  • Prepare and manage expense reports.
  • Use sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications
  • College degree preferred or recent graduate of risk management program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and experience coordinating projects or tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with teammates, leaders, vendors, and business partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated approach with strong follow-up skills
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years experience in insurance, such as claims, underwriting, or corporate insurance, preferred
  • Insurance-focused designation or interest in pursuing one preferred
