Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries. We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best. We are looking for a Sr. Underwriter I to join our Public Service team working hybrid out of any of our PHLY offices!

Determines acceptability, conditions and pricing of specific property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks and agrees on coverage within regulatory requirements, corporate product offerings and designated authority level.

• Underwrites large, complex property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of loss experience and business conditions of key accounts as well as loss trends and any relevant legal or economic factors regarding the property & casualty business
• Participates on a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the property & casualty insurance and service needs of large multi-product customers
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, priorities and target markets in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment
• May accompany marketing representative or represent the company on appointments in assigned territory and industry events
• May develop and maintain relationships with agency representatives
• May negotiate new and renewal business in partnership with Marketing to drive profitable growth
• May support profit improvement initiatives in partnership with Marketing Department

• College Degree or equivalent experience, plus CPCU, AU or other designation-related coursework
• 5 or more years of underwriting experience with a carrier handling Commercial Package business in a production-focused underwriting capacity
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to be detail oriented in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel in assigned geographic territory on agency calls

National Range: $84,422 - $94,354 Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
