Metz Lewis seeks to hire an Associate to join its Real Estate Group.
Metz Lewis is a Pittsburgh-based law firm with a reputation for delivering sophisticated and practical legal guidance. Our Real Estate Group represents developers, owners, operators, private equity sponsors, investors, lenders, borrowers, and corporate clients across a broad range of transactions. We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate attorney with at least 1 year of relevant transactional experience, including any or all of the following: (i) acquisitions;
(ii) dispositions; (iii) leasing (retail, office, industrial/flex), whether landlord or tenant side; (iv) financing (debt and/or equity), whether on behalf of a lender, borrower, sponsor, or investor; (v) development matters (zoning, land use, entitlements, tax abatements, development agreements, declarations/CC&Rs, etc.); and/or (vi) title and survey review/process management. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing real estate group.
- Draft and negotiate a range of contracts pertaining to commercial real estate transactions, with particular focus on:
- Purchase and sale agreements;
- Lease agreements;
- Loan documents;
- Operating agreements; and
- Ancillary transaction documents primarily attendant to the contracts noted above.
- Perform and manage due diligence, primarily in connection with purchase, sale, and financing transactions.
- Manage transaction timelines.
- Manage closing processes.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Pennsylvania bar.
- At least 1 full year of commercial real estate experience at a law firm.
- Strong drafting and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to understand clients’ goals and objectives.
