Key ResponsibilitiesThe Logistics and Procurement Coordinator is responsible for independently managing warehouse shipping and receiving operations while executing day-to-day procurement activities. This role ensures the efficient flow of goods, maintains inventory accuracy, and coordinates purchasing activities to support operational requirements.
Work closely with Procurement Specialist to:
Shipping, Receiving & Logistics Operations- Oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
- Coordinate with carriers and freight providers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and resolve transportation issues
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders; manage discrepancies, damages, and returns
- Ensure all shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, etc.) is complete and compliant
- Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or service issues
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the system and ensure alignment with physical stock
- Lead cycle counts and support periodic inventory audits, investigating and resolving variances
- Optimize inventory flow, storage, and organization within the warehouse
- Identify risks related to stock levels and communicate replenishment needs
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in alignment with operational requirements and inventory levels
- Coordinate with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and issue resolution
- Monitor open orders and follow up on delays, backorders, or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing, and supplier data
- Provide input to the Procurement Specialist on supplier performance (delivery, accuracy, responsiveness)
- Act as the key liaison between warehouse operations, procurement, and suppliers for day-to-day activities
- Identify and implement process improvements in shipping, receiving, and purchasing workflows
- Support cost control efforts through efficient logistics coordination and purchasing practices
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant shipping/regulatory requirements
In addition to these duties, the post holder may be required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required, from time to time, to achieve the above role purpose.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, and/or procurement coordination
- Practical experience in both logistics (shipping/receiving) and procurement (purchase order management)
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders and coordinating supplier deliveries
- Strong understanding of inventory control practices, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution
- Proven ability to coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy in both physical and system transactions
- Proficiency with ERP, inventory management, or procurement systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience optimizing logistics or warehouse processes
- Familiarity with import/export documentation or customs processes
- Experience supporting vendor performance tracking or basic supplier analysis
- Exposure to cost control or purchasing efficiency initiatives
- Experience in a regulated or project-based industry (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure)
Required
- Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams (warehouse, operations, procurement, finance)
- Supply chain certification (e.g., APICS/CPIM, CSCP, SCMP)
- Forklift or warehouse equipment certification
- Additional training in inventory management or logistics systems
