Job Description

The Global Clinical Supply (GCS) organization is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end integrated clinical supply chain across the full portfolio of clinical trials, including planning, sourcing, labeling, packaging, and global delivery of clinical supplies. The GCS Planning organization serves as the key interface between clinical development teams and the operational/execution arms of the business, working independently to create strategic and operational plans for the downstream activities of assigned studies.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Participating on the Clinical Trial Team and collaborating closely with functional area representatives to negotiate timelines and strategies for clinical supplies.
  • Interacting with key partners across GCS (Logistics, Trade, Distribution, Operations) and other organizations such as Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) and Global Development Quality (GDQ) to address clinical supply topics.
  • Establishing timelines for clinical supply needs per protocol and ensuring robust packaging and distribution for Clinical Finished Goods (CFGs).
  • Analyzing and anticipating clinical study risks related to supply chain deliverables and developing mitigation strategies for review with clinical partners and senior leaders.
  • Utilizing key tools and systems such as IRT, Microsoft Power Apps, SWMS, Veeva, MEDS, My Learning, and other Microsoft applications to manage clinical supplies for assigned studies.
  • Working directly in SAP to maintain a consolidated forecast for CFGs.
  • Reporting clinical supply chain incidents to support metrics collection in GCS and participating in root‑cause analysis for operational improvement.
  • Processing change controls and deviation records in accordance with GCS planning SOPs, BPs, and QMS procedures.
  • Supporting regulatory agency inspections for assigned trials.
  • Demonstrating strong problem‑solving, risk decision‑making, and influence on portfolio decisions.
  • Balancing strategy with tactical execution while maintaining ownership and accountability for assigned work.
  • Focusing on customers and patients, making rapid, disciplined decisions, and upholding ethics and integrity.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a scientific discipline, or a High School Diploma with 10+ years of equivalent industry experience in Pharmaceutical Clinical Supply.
  • At least five years of experience in project management.
  • At least five years of experience in planning, scheduling, coordination, and processing of supply chain activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influencing, and relationship‑building across cross‑functional teams, senior management, vendors, and clinical sites.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and clinical customer relationship management.
  • Technical proficiency with supply chain systems (SAP or Oracle), demand planning principles, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with changing business needs.
  • Detail orientation and organization, multitasking, prioritization, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying inefficiencies, developing solutions, and driving improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in using ERP, demand planning, and inventory management systems.
  • Proven record in project and portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Results orientation with proven ability to execute on collaborative projects and develop subject matter expertise.
  • Knowledge of order management, supply chain operations, and document control.
Benefits and Compensation
