Auto Part Associate

Position Overview

As an Auto Parts Associate at Car Max, you’ll be the backbone of our service department, ensuring technicians have the right parts to keep vehicles running smoothly. This role combines precision, efficiency, and customer care, making you an essential part of delivering an exceptional automotive experience. You’ll manage inventory, assist with part identification, and maintain compliance standards—all while providing outstanding customer service.

• Identify and provide accurate parts for internal and external customers to ensure timely vehicle service.
• Receive, stock, and maintain inventory with precision, including cycle counts and proper stocking levels.
• Process shipments and returns, including incorrect or defective parts, ensuring vendor compliance.
• Control supplies to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
• Allocate parts using Car Max systems for seamless workflow and accurate documentation.
• Deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication and problem solving.
• Follow Car Max Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately for inventory and transactions.
• Intermediate PC skills, including spreadsheet proficiency.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Effective verbal communication skills for customer and team interactions.
• Completion of Car Max-provided training in all parts processes.

• Hourly rate: $17.00 - $27.20.
• Paid sick time: up to 48 hours per year.
• Vacation: 80-200 hours per year after a 90‑day waiting period.
• Paid scheduled holidays: 6 + 1 floating holiday; holiday premium pay if worked on a holiday.
• Full‑time salaried associates: paid time away with no specified limit subject to manager approval.
