Job Overview
Director of Strategic Sourcing leads the planning and execution of sourcing strategies within the Jefferson enterprise to optimize costs, ensure compliance, and enhance supplier performance. The role includes managing direct reports, fostering vendor relationships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive savings and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage a team to implement category‑specific sourcing strategies aligned with departmental goals.
- Apply contract lifecycle management principles to support enterprise objectives, operational needs, and risk management.
- Develop an annual category management strategy in consultation with senior supply chain leaders.
- Implement key performance indicators in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Conduct market analysis and trend monitoring to influence supplier selection and negotiate agreements.
- Present bid opportunities to key stakeholders to support contract decisions and remove barriers.
- Utilize ERP, GPO, EDI, and other tools to meet organizational needs and stay on innovative market trends.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative stakeholders to ensure sourcing aligns with patient care and operational requirements.
- Identify and execute cost‑saving initiatives to improve the financial performance of category spend.
- Lead and develop the team, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and best practices; train, mentor, and encourage professional growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, contract administration, or value analysis.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Team‑building and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in data‑analysis tools and knowledge of healthcare regulations.
- Preferred:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or equivalent;
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; frequent sitting, standing, and keyboard use. Patient‑care providers may be required to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR as part of their role.
