The Role ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
- Monitor open purchase orders and supplier delivery commitments to ensure on-time receipt of materials.
- Proactively expedite critical and overdue orders to support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding order status, shipment schedules, lead times, and potential delivery risks.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, Production, Inventory Control, and Logistics teams to identify and resolve material shortages.
- Update ERP/MRP systems with accurate supplier acknowledgments, delivery dates, and order status information.
- Escalate supply issues, shortages, and delivery concerns to management when necessary.
- Coordinate supplier recovery plans for late deliveries and track corrective actions.
- Analyze supplier performance related to on-time delivery and responsiveness.
- Assist buyers with purchase order maintenance, revisions, and supplier follow-up activities.
- Verify shipment tracking information and coordinate transportation requirements when needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency and supplier performance.
- Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, materials management, supply chain, customer service, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory concepts.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) or contract manufacturing.
- Knowledge of supply chain planning and inventory control principles.
- APICS/ASCM or related supply chain certification is a plus.
- Experience with IFS Cloud ERP systems is a plus.
Typical working conditions at Kitron are indoors, safe, well lit, temperature controlled, low exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors, clean and sanitary conditions with average light industrial noise. Production areas have machinery with moving parts. Static dissipative smock, and shoes are required. Offices with locking doors, meeting rooms, and common printing areas are well lit, clean, low noise, and temperature controlled with no exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors.
