Maintenance Technician

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all equipment and providing process troubleshooting as needed.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Remove or replace defective parts in a safe manner.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed parts.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform minor welding, brazing, and cutting torch work.
• Perform minor repairs to trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Operate jib cranes and forklifts in a safe manner.
• Wear safety equipment and obey safety rules.
• Perform minor building repairs using masonry, carpentry, and/or cement work.
• Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• May work in other areas throughout the plant.
• Perform other duties assigned as may be required.
• Report any food safety problem to senior management.
• Initiate purchase order requests for parts or machines.

• Standing:
  Most tasks are performed in a standing position with frequent walking.
• Lifting:
  Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain hoists are available.
• Walking:
  Frequent walking of short distances (approximately 200 feet or less).
• Carrying:
  Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain hoists are available.
• Bending:
  Frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks.
• Reaching:
  Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
