THE POSITION

Our Long‑Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility is located in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest and is operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Work Supervisor, you will plan, direct, and control the work performed by the custodial staff in order to provide a clean, sanitary, and attractive environment for our residents, employees, and visitors. Work involves supervising the performance of standard or aseptic cleaning and sanitation work, which includes cleaning buildings, gathering waste and recyclable materials, as well as using and maintaining custodial supplies and cleaning equipment.

An important aspect of this position involves ensuring efficiency in the custodial unit's work processes and recommending improvements that meet operational needs. You will have the opportunity to develop constructive, cooperative working relationships with subordinates, supervisors, peers, and co‑workers so that performance and work interactions are focused on carrying out the department's mission.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full‑time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30‑minute lunch
    • Rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays. Work schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Custodial Worker 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of experience performing custodial work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
