Custodian

Salary: $31,040.00 - $38,800.00 (depending on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 260 days/year

This position will be floating between CAIU locations.

Job Goal: To Provide a safe, orderly, sanitary environment, conducive to learning, for all students and faculty.

• Clean and disinfect facilities including, but not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, and waxing floors/carpets; dusting; straightening/setting-up furniture; washing tables/desks and blackboards; emptying trash bins and pencil sharpeners; etc.
• Clean restrooms, which includes sinks and toilets, and refill paper towel dispenser, toilet paper dispenser, feminine vending machine, etc.
• Clean and maintain all meeting/conference rooms, kitchenettes, and similar high-use areas.
• Learn and use various cleaning and floor maintenance machines including scrubbers, buffers, polishers, carpet cleaners and other custodial-related powered equipment.
• Prepare meeting/conference room table and chair layouts, including specified equipment, utilizing Computerized Resource Scheduling Software.
• Assist the operation of the physical building during evening activities which includes maintaining bathrooms, meeting areas, and setting up rooms for the next day as needed.
• Report major and minor repair need to the Supervisor in a prompt manner.
• Maintain order and organization in all custodial storage areas as well as custodial equipment
• Perform duties associated with opening or closing of building, including securing all doors and windows, regulating heat and lighting as necessary.
• Request and maintain supplies and custodial equipment needed for the performance of duties.
• In the event of an emergency respond to calls from security/fire while the building is closed as directed by supervisor.
• Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or his/her designee.
