Janitorial Worker

This role focuses on performing a wide range of janitorial and housekeeping duties to keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors. You will support daily operations by maintaining common areas, restrooms, offices, and unoccupied rooms to a high standard of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial duties throughout the facility to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Clean and sanitize common areas, including hallways, lounges, and shared spaces.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Clean offices and work spaces, including dusting surfaces and removing trash.
• Clean unoccupied rooms to ensure they are ready for future use by guests and groups.
• Vacuum carpets and rugs in rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Wash windows and glass surfaces to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines while using cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply needs to the appropriate contact.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general janitorial duties in a facility setting.
• Experience with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Ability to vacuum, wash windows, and perform other routine cleaning tasks.
• Ability to handle general labor tasks related to cleaning and upkeep.
• Reliability and consistency in completing assigned cleaning duties.
• Attention to detail to ensure spaces remain clean, orderly, and presentable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles.
• Comfort working in an environment that serves youth groups and community organizations.
• Ability to follow directions and adhere to established cleaning standards and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quarryville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $18.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
