Site Safety Manager – Cedar Rapids, Iowa
LF Driscoll, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Site Safety Manager to support our mission critical operations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Essential Functions- Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Individual responsibilities in safety, health, and environmental matters.
- Monitors effectiveness of the safety management system and progress against the Structure Tone safety Performance Standards.
- Leads and provides functional management for safety personnel.
- Plans and implements programs to train Philadelphia managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
- Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Ensures that there are appropriate processes in place for promptly alerting the business and STO to significant accidents and incidents. Where appropriate be involved in the investigation and ensure that the findings are reported.
- Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Produces safety management reports monthly, quarterly and annually on safety performance.
- Reviews accident and incident reports and investigation reports, identifies any trends and ensures that there is an appropriate response to prevent future recurrence.
- Regularly meets with safety personnel to monitor and review management of the function.
- Reports on safety performance for the business unit at management team meetings.
- Consults and liaises with Corporate Safety Director on the management of safety in the division/business unit.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or related degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- 5-10 years of general construction experience.
- OSHA 30 hour training required.
