Job Title

Sow Farm Manager II – Multiple Openings

Oversee production of sow unit on farm and lead team members. Oversee operations including employee management, performance management, compliance and safety. Work closely with HR on determining hiring needs and conduct on-site interviews. Work with Nursery Service Manager on health and numbers; communicate health challenges. Execute animal care plans including vaccination and medication plan. Audit and manage supply and medication inventory.

Execute biosecurity programs, animal welfare program and production policies. Execute continuous improvement plans. Monitor budgets and targets. Develop a yearly business plan with Sow Service and update quarterly. Facilitate weekly farm meetings to engage team members. Participate in monthly regional farm meetings and quarterly whole system meetings. Ensure adequate supply of CO2, fuel, compost material, safety and maintenance supplies, report water meter readings, and schedule compost hauling.

Verify weekly transportation schedule. Lead with a focus on efficiency and developing the team and manage all aspects of the performance of the team including defining targets, coaching, training and development, and scheduling.

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Medicine, Sustainable Development or related field of study and one (1) year of experience as a Swine Herdsperson, Veterinarian, Breeding Lead, Swine Veterinarian, Veterinary Assistant, Farm Assistant, Agricultural Manager, or related role where required experience gained.
