The Role at a Glance
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for leading the execution of category management strategies across $900M+ in spend. You will focus on delivering cost savings, enhancing supplier performance, and improving operational processes. This role leads a team of category managers/analysts and collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver cost optimization, compliance, and operational excellence.
What you'll be doing
• Leading and developing a team of category manager(s)/analyst(s) while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Ensuring team deliverables align with procurement strategies and operational objectives. Supporting the development and execution of category strategies and roadmaps.
• Negotiating and managing identified enterprise-level supplier agreements (pricing, SLAs, risk). Supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and procurement guidance on sourcing strategies.
• Executing procurement initiatives aligned with corporate objectives.
• Contributing to process improvement and sourcing innovation efforts.
• Identifying sourcing opportunities and closing program gaps with line of business leadership.
• Maximizing savings through strategic sourcing, pricing structures, and rebate programs.
• Ensuring spend analytics and data governance. Leveraging analytics to support decision-making and reporting.
• Monitoring KPIs (spend under management, compliance, supplier performance) with specific focus on category tail spend management.
• Ensuring adherence to procurement policies while supporting efficient execution of sourcing processes, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and risk mitigation through contract and supplier management.
• Championing change management for new processes and systems and introducing best practices and innovative sourcing models.
• Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
• Directing and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
• Identifying and directing the implementation of process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the department.
• Providing subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
• Providing training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
• Directing and evaluating individual/team performance and taking appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
• Establishing and implementing priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure group results.
• Directing and providing leadership to continually improve the capability and results.
• Ensuring that top talent is hired and retained.
• Building organizational capability.
What we’re looking for
• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (Minimum Required)
• 7+ Years of procurement or supply chain experience, including 3+ years in category management or strategic sourcing leadership. (Required)
