Event Manager / Planner
Penn State Lehigh Valley seeks a Director of Athletics and Recreation to provide leadership for the campus intercollegiate athletics, club sports, and recreation and wellness programs. The director oversees all aspects of the athletics and recreation program and serves as a member of the Student Affairs leadership team, reporting to the Director of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities- Leadership and administration of varsity athletics, club sports, and recreation programs
- Supervision and development of athletics staff and coaches
- Oversight of recruitment strategies and student athlete success and retention
- Budget management, including Student Initiated Fee and Student Activity Fee resources
- Compliance with Penn State, conference, and regulatory requirements
- Facilities scheduling, game management, safety, and risk management
- Developing new revenue sources to support the growth of athletics
- Collaboration with campus partners and community stakeholders
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student development
- Demonstrated leadership experience in athletics or recreation
- Experience with staff supervision and budget oversight
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience at a Commonwealth Campus or similar institution
- Knowledge of PSUAC or comparable athletic conferences
Bachelor's Degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted. Required
Certifications:
None.
This position requires PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. It also requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle: a valid driver's license and completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
Salary & BenefitsThe salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $68,200.00 - $.
