Public Safety Officer – ArmedPRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide safety services for the college community including protection of students, staff, college facilities, property and institution. Position will require flexible hours, including weekend hours, up to 25 hrs/week.
RESPONSIBILITIESHigh School diploma or equivalent required. PA State Act 235 Certification (Firearms) required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Completion and annual renewal CPR/AED certification.
- Strong organizational, communicative and leadership skills.
- Ability to summarize information and prepare reports.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and climb several flights of stairs; ability to walk and stand for several hours at a time.
- Ability to execute multiple tasks and assignments.
- Ability to function in a crisis situation.
- Ability to understand and carry out written, e‑mailed or verbal instruction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to successfully pass all initial certifications and yearly re‑certifications in firearms, Tasers, handcuffing, OC and baton.
- Ability to successfully pass both a Drug and Psychological Screening.
Minimum two years public safety, law enforcement or other related experience and/or training required.
STARTING PAY: $20.00/hour
