Manager, IT Delivery

International Product Engineering Team Leader

Manages and leads a team of technical support staff who design, develop, test, implement, and monitor software and tools. Works with business leaders to define scope and requirements, and plans and executes the development of various systems. Acts as liaison with business sponsors and principals.

International Product Engineering (IPE) enables Vanguard's global business to scale through shared technology solutions. We build products once and deliver them across multiple regions and business lines—including Personal Investor, Financial Advisors, and Institutional clients—across the Americas (ex-US), Europe, and Australia.

This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate across all international regions, business lines, and across the enterprise to drive value to Vanguard's international clients while advancing your expertise in emerging technologies.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading an engineering team to build and support global advisor tools (Morningstar powered), global investment product data distribution (Polaris powered), and help drive our strategy to support agentic traffic across our international marketing websites (WebMCP, MCP server). This leader will also play a key role in defining the future team strategy to make space for new value-add work for international in partnership with our IPE Product Management org.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Oversee delivery of technology initiatives, ensuring alignment to product goals and business priorities
• Partner with global stakeholders across regions to manage priorities and drive outcomes
• Support operational planning, including staffing, delivery forecasting, and team capacity
• Drive continuous improvement across team processes, delivery model, and operational efficiency
• Contribute to shaping team strategy and identifying opportunities for future value creation
• Monitor delivery metrics and communicate status, risks, and progress to leadership
• Collaborate with technical experts to inform decisions, ensuring solutions align with business and technology needs
• Ensure adherence to enterprise technology and risk standards

Qualifications:

• Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least five years of project management experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
• Prior people leadership experience (required; can be from a previous role, not necessarily current)
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple teams or regions
• Proven decision-making and strategic thinking abilities in complex or ambiguous environments
• Experience leading delivery in a technology or engineering environment
• Ability to work across global teams and time zones
• Experience with or interest in AI tools and emerging technologies
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, cloud environments such as AWS)
