Job Duties Case Management & System Operations
- Implement and monitor effective case management procedures across family and juvenile court operations in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations.
- Establish time limits for conferences, hearings, and dispositions through Judges and Hearing Officers, while tracking and monitoring deadlines for court decisions and opinions.
- Compile and analyze court statistics and operational performance reports, conducting team comparisons to continuously refine, streamline, and improve family court processes.
- Research and implement new technologies, including electronic filing and imaging, leveraging multiple case management systems to enhance public service and ensure cost-effective administration.
- Prepare the monthly scheduling calendar for Family Emergency Motions, Family Miscellaneous, Paternity, and Support Enforcement.
- Oversee the hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, and discipline—including termination when necessary- of approximately 25 Family and Juvenile Court staff members.
- Manage the Protection from Abuse (PFA) office and staff.
- Coordinate and schedule training programs for Judges, Hearing Officers, case managers, and court staff.
- Act as the liaison between Administrative Judges, courtroom personnel, attorneys, and Court or County departments.
- Work closely with local county bar family law committees to keep them informed of changes in family court policies and procedures.
- Participate in management team meetings alongside the District Court Administrator and the Family Court Administrative Judge.
- Create the annual Family Court budget, overseeing purchases and expenditure throughout the year to ensure budget compliance.
- Maximize facility and room utilization under local space constraints, managing file system consolidation, shared courtroom schedules, public waiting areas, childcare facilities, and physical workspace maintenance.
- Implement policies and procedures directed by leadership, maintaining and updating a comprehensive job manual.
- Assist in the development of consolidated, standardized forms and notices to reduce the number of documents, particularly for pro se litigants who represent a significant portion of the caseload.
- Maintain a current directory of qualified family court service providers for reference by Judges, Hearing Officers, the family law bar, and litigants.
- Bachelor's degree in Judicial, Business or Public Administration, or closely related field; PLUS Three years of professional-level experience in court management OR four years of varied office management work including professional-level experience in budgeting, procurement, and human resources management.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Satisfactory criminal background check required.
