Shift: Full-Time; flexible schedule with weekend and/or back-shift coverage as required
Compensation: $111,000–$167,300 annually + 2.5% quarterly earnings opportunity
Travel: Travel to additional company facilities as required

A confidential metals manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead health, safety, environmental, workers' compensation, security, and regulatory compliance programs within a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This position provides leadership to HSE professionals and partners closely with Operations, senior management, employees, and other stakeholders to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
1. Job Summary
The HSE Manager establishes and manages programs, policies, guidelines, and strategies covering occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, workers' compensation, industrial hygiene, employee training, incident prevention, and site security. The Manager will lead regulatory compliance initiatives, audits, corrective actions, incident investigations, and HSE performance reporting.
This position serves as a key HSE leader for manufacturing operations and has responsibility for both strategic program development and hands-on execution. The HSE Manager will analyze safety and environmental performance, develop improvement plans, manage HSE staff, and partner with operational leadership to reduce workplace risk and strengthen the site's overall safety culture.
2. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
HSE Leadership & Compliance
- Lead and maintain an integrated HSE management system aligned with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Establish short- and long-term HSE goals, initiatives, and action plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update programs, procedures, and training accordingly.
- Provide HSE guidance and technical support to management, supervisors, and employees.
- Support HSE requirements across additional company locations as needed.
Safety Programs & Incident Management
- Lead site safety committees and safety review activities.
- Conduct and coordinate major accident and incident investigations.
- Identify root causes and issue or coordinate corrective actions.
- Manage workplace injury cases from the initial incident through return to work.
- Review and analyze safety statistics, trends, and incident data and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic safety audits, communicate findings, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives designed to increase awareness and reduce workplace accidents and exposures.
- Oversee incident reporting systems and monitor corrective-action follow-up.
Environmental & Industrial Hygiene
- Manage environmental compliance programs and initiatives applicable to manufacturing operations.
- Manage the Industrial Hygiene Program.
- Oversee the Hearing Conservation Program.
- Manage the Respiratory Protection Program.
- Oversee the Hazard Communication Program and Safety Data Sheet management.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) requirements from an HSE perspective.
- Supervise radiation safety and employee monitoring programs where applicable.
