THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Liquor Store General Manager 1B to lead the operations of our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store on Monongahela Avenue in Glassport. Why Join Us? As a General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the store while leading and developing a dedicated team.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the store's performance, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving operational success. You will be a key leader, overseeing day-to-day activities, developing a high-performing team, and implementing strategies to exceed sales targets while maintaining a top-tier store environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Store Leadership:
    Guide daily operations to support strong customer service and meet business goals
  • Staff Oversight:
    Direct employees by assigning tasks, offering training, and reviewing work quality
  • Sales Support:
    Assist with receiving shipments, stocking items, and helping customers choose products
  • Inventory Control:
    Monitor stock levels and arrange merchandise so customers can easily find products
  • Record Management:
    Handle cash procedures and maintain accurate sales and reporting records

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A; (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of lead or supervisory retail sales work
Other Requirements

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
