Electronics Technician, Electronics Assembler

PositionThe Rework Solderer/Circuit Card Assembler II disassembles and reassembles highly sensitive circuit cards. Soldering surface mount and through-hole electronic components onto a circuit board while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities- Removes defective components from circuit card assemblies: remove conformal coatings and bonding materials; utilizes various equipment and tools such as desoldering stations, solder upflow equipment, soldering irons, and hot air desoldering equipment.
- Replaces and attaches new electronic components onto circuit boards utilizing basic hand tools, materials and processes including the soldering process and equipment.
- Follows work instructions and router operations to complete necessary work.
- Enters accurate data into the company database at the completion of operations.
- Interfaces with engineers, technicians, and supervisors to assist in problem solving or assembly issues.
- Prepares components for installation as required, including forming components by hand or automated, bending leads, or preconditioning leads or wires.
- Follows proper circuit board handling procedures while moving components and boards throughout processes.
- Obtains and maintains certifications in IPC
610 and JStandard
001 procedures. - Responsible for self-inspection of product for any defects prior to moving product to the next step.
- Maintains a clean work environment to ensure product integrity and quality.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission and values.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience soldering various levels of circuit card assemblies including through-hole and surface mount technology
- Understanding of heat management as applicable to circuit card assemblies
- Basic understanding of chemicals used in circuit card assembly
- Obtains and maintains basic certifications in IPC
610 and JStandard
001 procedures - Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
Production Environment:
Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Hours:
6:00 - 3:30, Monday through Thursday;
Friday 6:00-2:30; occasional additional hours as needed. 9/80 work schedule.
