Job Description Purpose

The Forklift Operator moves material, supplies and finished goods to designated areas utilizing a sit-down forklift and loads product onto trailers according to all Berry Global ISO and other established program requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Pulls, loads and moves merchandise according to pick/load sheets and all documents specific to each type of merchandise.
  • Uses equipment appropriate to each type of movement.
  • Will perform cycle counting, re-packaging of product and inventory consolidation duties.
  • Assists in physical inventories.
  • Will perform daily cleaning assignments in the warehouse.
  • Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Amcor, local, state, and federal requirements and regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of previous forklift operation (sit-down preferred).
  • Previous warehouse experience in loading/unloading trucks.
  • Ability to do functional math (adding, subtracting, multiplying and division).
  • Experience working with inventories, pick sheets, shipping and/or receiving of product.
  • Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Ability to perform certain tasks such as lifting, working 12‑hour rotating shifts, and operating in a non‑climate‑controlled facility.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines including wearing PPE in designated areas.
  • Visually inspects warehouse area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards, employee’s safety, and adherence to policies and maintains compliance with OSHA and company housekeeping rules.
  • Employee is required to wear safety glasses at all time while operating forklift.
Experience

H.S. graduate or equivalent and previous forklift operation. Previous warehouse experience in loading and unloading trucks in addition to experience in doing inventories, pick sheets, shipping and/or receiving. Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.

Language Skills

Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to do functional math; i.e., adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.

SAFETY

Adheres to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines. Visually inspects production area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards, employee’s safety, adherence to policies and maintains a clean work environment.
