Accountability
This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Set up daily work according to production schedule or verbal instructions
- Startup injection molding machines according to the production schedule
- Consistently produce products per part drawings that satisfy QC and customer requirements
- Ensure accurate processing parameters are reached to produce quality molded parts by adjusting injection pressure, injection speed, injection barrel heats, timers and mold temperature
- Install and set up injection molds according to mold cycle and set up sheets
- Communicate with and motivate the Injection Molding team to execute to the production plan
- Distribute employee assignments to support the production schedule
- Quantify, document and report employee production totals to the Production Supervisor
- Train new hires and cross‑train existing employees
- Serve as first point of contact for any inquiries regarding the injection molding process
- Provide feedback to the Production Supervisor on employee performance
- Organize and conduct the shift meetings
- Oversee that cleanliness and safety are maintained in work area
- High School Diploma or GED, Technical Certification a plus
- 5+ years of Injection molding experience is preferred
- Possess working knowledge of all auxiliary equipment in the Injection Molding Department
- Ability to establish molding parameters through material knowledge
- Mechanically inclined with experience using basic hand tools
- Ability to read and analyze quality documents, technical procedures, work orders, schematics, blueprints, and part drawings
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and convey them to others in English
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
