As a Hazardous Waste Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting safe and compliant hazardous waste management for a Tradebe customer. This position provides onsite support for hazardous waste operations with an emphasis on maintaining compliance of satellite accumulation areas. If you have experience with hazardous waste handling or knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and RCRA regulations and an interest in growing in the field, this position could be for you!
Key Job Responsibilities
- Ensure OSHA, DOT, and hazardous waste compliance across multiple buildings
- Conduct inspections of waste collection and storage areas
- Restock on-site safety and compliance supplies
- Support general onsite tasks, including inventory control and maintaining clean, organized work areas.
- Assist with the consolidation of chemicals from various labs and departments.
- Ensure accurate labeling of containers with required DOT/EPA and TSD information.
- Understand and follow customer-specific disposal restrictions and special packaging requirements.
- Maintain adequate supplies of onsite PPE, shipping documents, labels, and other required materials.
- Follow all applicable regulations, safety standards, and internal policies to ensure EHS compliance.
- Assist in collecting, segregating, and properly packaging chemical waste and materials for disposal to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Understanding of hazardous waste operations
- Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards
- Previous hands-on experience with lab packing, chemical stabilization, or regulatory compliance activities is a plus
- Preferred experience in waste management processes such as waste collection, satellite accumulation area management, profiling, chemical segregation, and waste disposal technologies.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred
- Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Tanker Haz Mat endorsement within 6 months (CDL holders preferred)
- Ability to get a Class B license (company provided) required
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator.
- Ability to work onsite daily and maintain the schedule for which you are hired.
