Intern Welder – Production Team (York, PA)

The Intern Welder performs production work such as welding and basic assembly operations in a Lean Six Sigma environment.

Interns learn to fabricate, assemble and weld components for Standard Vessels, Heat Exchangers and Standard Compressor Packages to meet specifications and budgets.

Hours are flexible with a minimum expectation of 20 hours per week. The facility operates Monday‑Thursday from 6:00am to 4:00pm.

Responsibilities Standard Vessels and Heat Exchangers
  • Perform all operations in the manufacture of standard separators, receivers and heat exchangers to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assemble and weld sub‑assembly parts.
  • Install parts.
  • Weld internal and external parts.
  • Install heads and sub‑arc.
  • Sub‑arc wrappers.
  • Assemble and weld supports, legs and angles.
  • Assemble and weld water boxes.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Standard Compressor Packages
  • Perform all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assemble and weld sub‑assembly parts.
  • Install package components.
  • Assemble, weld and install system piping.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Welding program.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic blueprint reading.
  • Basic fabrication skills.
  • Comprehension of safety rules.
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, walk for periods of time on a concrete surface.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
  • Hands, arms and fingers with sufficient dexterity to operate tools and/or machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented, Lean Six Sigma environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is $19.00-$20.00 per hour. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location and qualifications. You may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity awards.
