United Plate Glass is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our Fabrication Department. This position is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of aluminum framing and door components, as well as the delivery of materials to job sites and customer locations. Responsibilities will vary between shop production and delivery duties based on company needs.
Responsibilities- Cut, machine and assemble aluminum framing, doors and related components.
- Operate fabrication equipment including CNC machines, saws, punch machines, mills and other shop tools.
- Read and accurately use a tape measure to ensure product quality and precision.
- Assemble fabricated components according to production requirements.
- Load and unload materials, fabricated products and delivery vehicles.
- Deliver materials and products to job sites, customers and company locations.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks of delivery vehicles.
- Assist with inventory organization and material handling within the fabrication facility.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Follow company safety procedures, quality standards and production schedules.
- Assist with additional fabrication, warehouse and delivery duties as assigned.
- Reports to Shop Foreman.
- Works directly with fabrication personnel and delivery staff.
- Interacts with project managers, field personnel, office staff, vendors and customers.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Medical CDL certification.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Previous fabrication, manufacturing, construction or carpentry experience is preferred.
- Experience operating power tools, machinery and fabrication equipment is a plus.
- Must be dependable, self‑motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work both indoors in a fabrication environment and outdoors while making deliveries.
- Ability to work additional hours and flexible schedules as necessary to meet company needs.
- Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment, forklifts, material handling equipment and delivery vehicles as authorized.
