Forklift Operator/Material Handler job at Techo-Bloc in Douglassville, PA.
Job DescriptionPay: $20.50/hr
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am-5:00pm
Location: Douglassville, PA
Position: This role is a perfect fit for those newer to the industry, or anyone looking for a career stepping‑stone in warehousing or manufacturing.
General laborers are integral to our manufacturing and warehousing process. Daily duties include inspecting, repairing pallets, handling and inspecting concrete blocks, and loading or unloading trucks as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete examination of returned pallets by checking height and quality, applying company standards as instructed.
- Assist with receiving orders and sorting/stacking pallets.
- Operate a forklift to transport pallets through the yard and to load/unload trucks.
- Follow established guidelines for policy and procedure to meet or exceed QA standards.
- Examine finished product for height, shape, color, and consistency, applying company standards.
- Build displays and sample pallets for vendors.
- Package products by adding materials, a top sheet, and labels, and perform a final QC check on the skid before sending to the yard for transport.
- All products must be packaged neatly and securely.
- Assist forklift operators with loading trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean workstation and assist with yard cleanup.
- Wear personal protective equipment and ensure safety policies are followed.
- Follow company lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
- Behave in accordance with Techo-Bloc Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Write simple correspondence and/or memos.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
- Perform each essential duty to company standards.
- Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Apply common sense and reason to problems and situations.
- Handle problems and situations effectively.
- Be punctual for scheduled shifts.
- Work individually and in a team environment.
- Multitask.
Education and Experience:
- 1+ year(s) of experience as a sit‑down forklift operator (required).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (highly preferred).
- One year of manufacturing experience (preferred).
