About the Role
At Bell & Evans, we are looking for dependable and detail-oriented team members to join our Sanitation team. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and food‑safe production environment through the proper cleaning and sanitizing of processing rooms, production equipment, and facility areas in accordance with USDA, Quality Assurance, and company standards.
This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, understand the importance of food safety, and can work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Sanitation team members play a critical role in ensuring production areas are inspection‑ready and prepared for daily operations.
Job SummaryResponsible for safely cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, production lines, and facility areas while following all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Performs pre‑operational inspections to ensure equipment and production areas meet USDA and Quality Assurance standards before the start of production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and facility areas using high‑pressure hoses, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation tools.
- Follow and understand all 7 Steps of Sanitation procedures.
- Perform pre‑operational (Pre‑Op) self‑inspections on equipment and general production areas including floors, walls, drains, and work spaces.
- Ensure all sanitation tasks are completed thoroughly and production areas are inspection‑ready for Quality Assurance and USDA review.
- Safely handle and apply sanitation chemicals in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all food safety, GMP, PPE, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify and report any sanitation, equipment, or safety concerns to leadership promptly.
- Work efficiently to ensure production schedules and startup times are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the shift.
- Support team operations and assist with additional sanitation duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous sanitation, industrial cleaning, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Ability to consistently lift, push, and pull at least 20 pounds.
- Comfortable working in wet, humid, hot, cold, and chemical‑exposed environments while wearing required PPE.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
