We are looking for a hands‑on industrial painter to prepare and finish large structural steel and heavy industrial equipment. This is not light production painting—this is full‑process work where preparation, technique, and durability matter. Work is visible and matters.
What This Role Really IsThis is a hands‑on industrial painting role: you’ll spend most of your time sanding and preparing surfaces, then applying coatings to large steel components. You are accountable for finish quality, durability, and adherence to specifications.
Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn’t) You’ll do well here if you:- Take ownership of surface prep, not just the final paint.
- Understand that sandblasting and preparation drive coating quality.
- Take pride in consistent, durable finishes and doing the job right the first time.
- Prefer light‑duty or cosmetic painting work.
- Rush prep work to finish coating faster.
- Cut corners on safety, quality, or process.
- Learn ACECO paint processes, coating systems, and safety requirements.
- Independently perform sandblasting and surface preparation tasks.
- Apply coatings with consistent quality and coverage.
- Build working relationships with production and quality teams.
- Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and ownership in daily work.
- Impact – Work on large‑scale industrial equipment used in critical applications.
- Craftsmanship – Full‑process painting work, not repetitive production spraying.
- Stability – Full‑time manufacturing role with a consistent second‑shift schedule.
- Growth – Build specialized industrial coating and finishing skills.
- Perform sandblasting of structural steel and equipment components.
- Grind, clean, and prepare surfaces to meet coating specifications.
- Ensure proper surface profiles for coating adhesion.
- Mix and apply industrial coatings according to specifications.
- Prime and finish large steel components and assemblies.
- Monitor environmental and application conditions for proper curing.
- Inspect finished surfaces for coverage, consistency, and durability.
- Correct defects and rework surfaces as needed.
- Ensure finished product meets quality and customer standards.
- Maintain paint equipment, tools, and storage areas.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental controls.
- Coordinate with production teams to meet schedules and deadlines.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience painting structural steel, heavy equipment, or industrial components preferred.
- Experience with sandblasting equipment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial coatings, surface preparation, and finishing techniques.
- Experience with paint mixing, application, and inspection processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Safety‑first mindset in an industrial environment.
- Ability to follow work instructions and specifications.
- Reliable, accountable, and team‑oriented.
- Alignment with ACECO values:
Work Hard, Have Fun, and Do the Right Thing.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
- Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I‑9).
- Eligibility to access export‑controlled information where applicable.
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws.
- Willingness to undergo a pre‑employment drug screen and randomized drug testing during employment.
- Ability to meet the posted work schedule and required hours.
- Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Willingness to wear required PPE when in shop or manufacturing areas.
