CNC Machinist Manager
This hands-on managerial role is responsible for overseeing production quality and machining output. The position involves directly managing a team of fewer than 10 CNC machinists operating 7 Haas vertical machining centers and 3 CNC lathes. The role reports to the Manufacturing Manager and collaborates closely with the General Manager, President, and Engineering Department at a precision machining fabrication company located in Montgomeryville, PA.

Core Responsibilities- Manage, mentor, and optimize the output of a team of fewer than 10 CNC machinists.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate 7 vertical machining centers and 3 CNC lathes when necessary.
- Input G&M codes and utilize CAM software to program complex close-tolerance parts.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with customer blueprints and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Design and produce custom manufacturing fixtures to safely hold work pieces and optimize production runs.
- Coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager, General Manager, President, and Engineering to plan manufacturing timelines and troubleshoot errors.
- Implement preventive maintenance routines, troubleshoot mechanical faults, and minimize machine downtime.
- Minimum of 5 years of programming and close-tolerance machining experience in a custom job shop environment.
- Deep proficiency in programming and operating Fadal and Haas CNC Machining Centers, alongside conventional mills and lathes.
- Expert skills in interpreting technical drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances (GD&T) per ASME standards.
- Proven experience machining various metals, specifically stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys, aluminum, and steel.
- Background in shop floor leadership, timeline management, and peer mentorship.
