You will be trained in the skills necessary to succeed, provided with the required feedback to grow and compensated for the skills that you develop. We are currently seeking motivated and experienced fitters to work either 1st or 2nd shift at our Zelienople, PA facility.

As a fitter at Robinson, you will be responsible for tacking/fitting, and welding metal components and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role supports production by ensuring high-quality fabrication, structural integrity, and compliance with safety and quality standards in an industrial manufacturing environment. Our fitters are critical to ensure that our industrial fans meet the high-quality standards our customers are accustomed to.

The 1st shift schedule is M-F 6:00am-2:30pm and the 2nd shift schedule is M-Th 2:00pm-12:30am.

What you'll do:

  • Review project assignments and instructions from team lead
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine fabrication requirements
  • Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan
  • Tack assembly together per specifications
  • Measure, cut, align, and fit metal components using hand tools and power equipment
  • Ensure work meets quality standards
  • Practice safety in all aspects of the job and participate in safety improvement programs
  • Understand the principles of lean manufacturing (the 5S system should be followed in work areas)
  • Perform various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG) to join metal parts
  • Set up and operate welding machines, torches, and related equipment safely and effectively
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of welds using measuring tools and visual inspection techniques
  • Maintain proper alignment and fit of parts prior to and during welding
  • Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet specifications and customer requirements
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding and fabrication equipment
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals
  • Document work completed and report any defects or non-conformances

What you bring:

  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to tack and weld as needed
  • Minimum of two (2) year(s) experience with Mig, Tig and Flux Core
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A "can do" attitude and a willingness and desire to learn to build your skills as a fitter
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality welding on all fabricated components
  • Ability to pass AWS D1.1 welding qualifications as well as AWS D14.6 if it applies to their shop
  • Read and understand Robinson weld detail drawings, welding procedures, and shop travelers
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, wear a respirator, wear safety boots, hear safety alarms and climb ladders
  • Fluent in English, working with written and verbal communication
  • Strong fabricating experience is required for this position
