Cnc Mill or Cnc Lathe Machinist – Direct hire Tops Staffing has partnered with a well-established precision machine shop that is hiring for both Cnc Mill and Cnc Lathe Machinist positions on both daylight and night shifts. Work schedule 4 x 10s work schedule choose from - Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday Daylight shift: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm or night shift: 9:00 pm – 7:00 am Pay & shift differential $20–$30 per hour based on experience $1.50 per hour shift differential for off-shifts Why this shop is different This shop works with both metals and plastics. Plastic machining involves simple geometries and looser tolerances, creating a lower-stress environment, while metal work focuses on copper and aluminum.
The shop is clean, organized, and process-driven.
What you'll be doing Machinists are responsible for independently running Cnc mills or lathes from setup through production. Duties include setting up Cnc machines, tooling, and fixtures. Loading and unloading materials Making simple Cnc program edits (feeds, speeds, offsets);
Reading and interpreting blueprints and job travelers Inspecting parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and gauge pins Maintaining tolerances and part quality Deburring parts Monitoring machine performance Troubleshooting issues; performing light maintenance on assigned machines
Qualifications Experience setting up and operating Cnc mills or lathes. Ability to work independently from blueprints. Understanding of Gd&T. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments. Ability to perform tool changes and basic troubleshooting. Working knowledge of Mastercam (preferred). Experience with Fanuc or Haas controllers preferred. Plastic machining experience is a plus but not required.
