Truestone, an Akima company, is looking to hire several Cable Fabricator to work in Tobyhanna, PA. You will be joining an existing team to help support customer needs. These positions are typically 1st shift; however, candidates must be open to working other shifts if needed (2nd or 3rd). Must have experience with tinning, American Wire Gauge (AWG), understanding various types of conductors, soldering various metals.

* Works independently on routine and repetitive assignments such as maintaining, troubleshooting, testing and repairing problems in single layered printed circuit cards, and other equipment that is of limited design and functional complexity.
* Performs tasks such as assembling cables, removing and replacing defective components, modules, and assemblies that have been identified as being defective.
* Operates automatic test equipment which has been programmed to a type of chassis or circuit card to isolate or locate defective components.
* Follows detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, layout diagrams and work instructions to construct individual chassis and components of electronic equipment.
* May work as a member of a team which performs work both on the depot and while on TDY to CONUS and/or OCONUS locations.
* Work requires normal color perception, close eye-hand coordination, and body movements such as sitting, kneeling, bending, climbing, standing, crawling, stooping, and lifting.
* May be required to work in cramped and strained positions inside and outside vans, shelters, and on work- stands.
* Subject to the usual hazards associated with the electronic trade and work environment such as electrical shock; abrasions; burns; bruises; cuts; exposure to fumes, oils, greases, varying noise levels; and R.F. radiation. May involve high voltage work. Qualifications
* Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
* Must be able to work First, Second and Third Shift as dictated by workload.
* Must pass a pre-employment Cable Test Evaluation/Exam
* Must have knowledge of Electronics Theory and applications.
* Cable Fabrication training and testing is mandatory.
* Experience with:
* soldering and be IPC certification ready, read, understand and interpret drawings and blueprints and fabricate and repair electronic components in accordance with drawings, standard work documents, technical reference orders, technical manuals, technical orders, etc.
* fabricating and overhaul cable assemblies, including but not limited to assembly of cable wires and connecting cable wires to connector pins, switch boxes and power distribution boxes.
* using common hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers, crimpers, and heat guns.
* performing tasks such as assembling cables, removing and replacing defective components, modules, and assemblies that have been identified as being defective.
* operating automatic test equipment which has been programmed to a type of chassis or circuit card to isolate or locate defective components.
* performing soldering which complies with standards such as IPC 7711/7721 and other industry soldering standards
* following detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, layout diagrams and work instructions to construct individual chassis and components of electronic equipment.
* Able to follow both written and oral instructions.
* Able to work independently on routine and repetitive assignments such as maintaining, troubleshooting, testing and repairing problems in single layered printed circuit cards, and other equipment that is of limited design and functional complexity.
* May be required to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, earplugs, and etc.
Physical Demands:
* May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outside on shelters or van mounted systems.
* Must be able to lift objects up to 40 pounds and stand, sit, bend, reach and walk for extended periods of time.
