Experienced Chemical Operator
All Chemical Operator III positions exist with an expectation that the individual will work safely according to policies and procedures and that any operator will take ownership of their safety and the safety of their co-workers. This is a Qualified field operator in MOX, Alcoholates, Boranes, Alkylboranes, PPD, Utilities, or Cylinder Processing who assists with training of other field operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Able to perform most of repetitive/routine tasks within designated department without direction.
- Established understanding of how equipment and processes function.
- Provides support and suggestions for process improvements in the areas of efficiency and quality
- Proactively and clearly communicates field process status, priorities and unusual circumstances within the department.
- Ability to replace valves, relief valves, gaskets and regulators and is able to thread pipes.
- Aware of equipment and can identify mechanical problems and/or predict failures.
- Participates in team activities like incident investigations and site audits.
- Recognizes problems, identifies potential causes, and seek help to resolve problems within own area of expertise.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications:- Has knowledge and understanding of the chemicals used for producing all department products
- Strong material compatibility knowledge.
- Ability to do common unit conversions (0C/0F, Kg/lb)
- Intermediate computer skills including Windows, Outlook or equivalent mail system.
- Ability to review and revise documents, procedures, LOTO, and make suggestions to improve safety, consistency and quality.
- Has proficiency required to prepare Safe Work, LOTO, Line Break, and Hot Work Permits.
· Identifies and clarifies the needs and expectations of other departments.
· Provides support and suggestions for process improvements in the areas of efficiency and quality.
· Independently recognizes areas of development and seek help to address gaps and challenges the status quo in a respectful manner
· GED/High School Diploma preferred
