Job SummaryLead team members in a flow path to safely produce quality product at the lowest cost by problem‑solving to eliminate waste and continue growth. This position reports to the Extrusion Prep/Pre‑Heat Manager.
Qualifications Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3 Years or more in a Manufacturing Environment required.
Qualifications:
- Shop Floor experience in the Prep Department preferred.
- Leadership experience and training preferred.
- Candidate must possess strong communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge and/or understanding of the overall Prep/Preheat process.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Oracle.
- Provides a physically and emotionally safe working environment promoting mutual trust and respect.
- Investigates safety incidents and works on preventive safety techniques with teams.
- Provides first response (first on help chain) to team members when customer demand is jeopardized, or area is shutting down due to safety and/or quality problems.
- Sponsors and facilitates rapid problem‑solving process across areas. Works to remove waste across areas.
- Maintains personal touch with each team member during the course of the shift.
- Develop Work Instructions and/or Standardized Work with team members and sponsors use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety and quality practices, Standardized Work across areas.
- Coaches and educates crew/team in Safety, Quality, Genesis concepts/principles, work practices, problem solving methods, and people issues.
