Production Supervisor at Ellwood National Forge. The opportunity is assigned in Irvine, with possible periodic assignments to the Irvine/Warren/Corry plants. This position is an exempt, full-time opportunity.
Responsibilities- Maintaining a safe work environment by assuring plant organization and housekeeping while maintaining product flow.
- Providing leadership to team members, training, setting clear expectations and completing annual performance evaluations for skills and behavioral performance.
- Managing production work centers and maximizing product throughput using manufacturing best practices and management directives.
- Managing product flow to meet production schedules and on-time delivery to the customer.
- Assuring quality and continuous improvement by troubleshooting quality issues and focusing on continuous improvement by identifying, eliminating, and preventing obstacles to efficient product flow, quality and efficiency.
- Ensuring the accuracy of team member timecards utilizing the UKG Workforce Management system.
- Documenting employment‑related matters including hiring, promoting, disciplining and supporting affirmative‑action efforts.
- Administering, supporting and enforcing safety regulations as well as policies, rules and procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
- Supporting all ENF policies, procedures and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of shop practices, capabilities, product processing and quality requirements.
- Ability to work well with a team while also working independently.
- Strong analytical skills, math skills and problem‑solving ability.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Results oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize.
- Ability to work well with other departments.
- Familiarity with Syteline, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to work a variety of shifts to support the 24‑hour operations of our facilities.
- 3–5 or more years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior management/leadership/supervisory classes or training.
- Proficiency with reading and interpreting blueprints including GD&T tolerancing.
- Proficiency with Syteline, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic understanding of the characteristics of a variety of steels.
