The production operator IV contributes to an assigned area of the team-oriented production process. Responsibilities include operating automated production equipment, diagnosing machinery failures, assisting in preventative maintenance, and maintaining sanitation of all related equipment.
Other duties include maintaining a safe work environment for themselves and fellow technicians, mastering Enterprise software for data input, retrieval, and reporting that impacts production and financial systems, and demonstrating competency for all on-the-job activities affecting product safety, legality, or quality. The operator must act as a member of a highly functioning team and move to all production areas, setting gauges, dials, guides, and rulers with dexterity.

Position Responsibilities
- Check and adhere to the production work schedule for job assignments and work reporting times.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times while on duty.
- Operate facility metal detector(s) when trained and certified.
- Comply with work rules, safety rules, and GMPs.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes‑Oxley, etc.).
- Perform other duties deemed by management integral to the job, including fulfillment of work schedules, attendance policies, and operating rules.
- Set up equipment following established procedures, specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure continuous, efficient flow of materials through assigned equipment.
- Verify product quality meets required standards throughout operation.
- Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance, measurements, and production speeds.
- Remove defective product and ensure only compliant product moves forward in the process.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all sanitation requirements.
- Complete required documentation and system entries accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of related experience.
- High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair).
- Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or at least 45 college credit hours may substitute for technical training.
- Completion of the AIB “Science of Baking” course is acceptable.
