Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain production plan per work order due dates to optimize schedules, deliveries, yields, and intra‑department communications.
- Maintain manufacturing processes per procedures by observation and routine audits.
- Communicate Diamond Fab production process/yield problems to Manager, supervisors, and/or process engineers in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing issues as they occur.
- Attend daily production shift‑change meetings, communicating priorities and issues to the manufacturing team.
- Plan activities and schedules that anticipate any issues that could cause delays.
- Understand all diamond processing activities and provide feedback on areas of concern.
- Provide feedback to process engineering and maintenance that relates to yields or concerns that affect deterministic manufacturing.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance, including checking operation temperature, water flows, and other outlined general maintenance tasks.
- Work to meet production schedules and commitment to on‑time deliveries.
- Review quality goals for the work group and address issues as they occur, ensuring goals are met.
- Support cross‑training throughout the department and utilize training skills when appropriate.
- Enforce company rules and shop procedures in the processing and support areas.
- Provide problem solving and technical support for daily production issues.
- Focus on maintaining deterministic process controls and sustaining process operations.
- Periodically work off scheduled shift to support training and improve communication.
- Use experience to improve processes, communicating with manufacturing and process engineers.
- Demonstrate interpersonal effectiveness: deal effectively with differences of opinion, influence positively, draw ideas from others, negotiate and mediate.
- Show teamwork: develop a cohesive work group, facilitate commitment and enthusiasm, assure cooperation and coordination among peers.

- Train new employees according to the outlined plan.
- Work effectively as part of a team both internally and externally to the department on a project basis to meet expectations and deadlines.
- High school diploma required.
- More than 2 years manufacturing experience required.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicant must be a U.S. person, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
- Hands‑on mindset and approach.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.
- Strong attention to detail and continual pursuit of improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be team‑oriented and work well with others in the group.
- ISO experience a plus.
- Primary environment is a clean, temperature‑controlled, light manufacturing area with low levels of noise and dirt.
- Steady three‑shift operation.
- Minimum of 40 hours per week with potential for 8 hours of overtime and weekends as needed.
- Combination of 25% standing and 75% sitting for long periods. Lifting requirements not to exceed 30 lbs.
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards. Steel‑toe shoes are provided and required. Heat‑resistant gloves are required when handling hot objects. Gloves are required when handling slurries or other chemicals such as acetone, acetic acid, isopropyl alcohol, and propylene glycol.
