Machine Operator - 3rd Shift - Fleetwood, PA
This role prepares and operates juice batching and production equipment on a rotating schedule, primarily on 3rd shift with initial training on 1st shift. Under the direction of a supervisor, you will oversee juice preparation, monitor yield performance, and maintain product quality while supporting safe and efficient operations on the production floor.
Responsibilities- Prepare and operate juice batching and production equipment to meet established yield and quality standards.
- Monitor juice quantity and quality during production and make appropriate adjustments to machinery and product settings.
- Collaborate with quality control personnel during batching procedures and provide product samples as requested.
- Perform routine and light maintenance tasks to identify and resolve minor equipment issues.
- Train and instruct employees on proper juice preparation procedures and equipment operation as needed.
- Direct and monitor work assignments and performance of assigned juice preparation personnel.
- Complete all start-up and shutdown procedures for batching and related production equipment.
- Perform quality assurance checks and accurately record results as required by production and quality procedures.
- Operate a forklift safely to move materials, fuel tanks, and drums as needed for production.
- Complete required records and daily checklists prior to operating a forklift.
- Maintain appropriate fuel, oil, and water levels in forklifts and related equipment.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment and follow good manufacturing practices.
- Ensure safe working conditions and promote safe work practices within the assigned area.
- Provide relief coverage for other juice preparation personnel when required.
- Lift up to 40 pounds regularly and occasionally maneuver a 75-pound fuel tank and 600-pound drums with appropriate methods and equipment.
- Work rotating shifts and overtime as required to support production schedules.
- Perform other related duties that support overall production and operational goals as directed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and quality control personnel.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations required for batching and production measurements.
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
- Comfort operating fast-paced machine and conveyor equipment.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts in a production setting.
- Capability to lift 40 pounds and occasionally maneuver heavier items using proper techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities to direct and support other juice preparation personnel.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to meet position requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with batching processes and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Experience in food manufacturing and/or juice manufacturing.
- Experience with machine operation, mixing, packaging, blending, and line work in an industrial environment.
- Experience using common hand tools for basic maintenance tasks.
- Previous forklift operating experience; if no prior experience, willingness to train and operate forklifts.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime when required.
- Comfort working as a general laborer in a fast-paced production setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fleetwood, PA.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
