Job Description
This Chemical Operator role focuses on supporting pilot-scale manufacturing by preparing and mixing chemical batches, executing batch schedules, and monitoring processes to ensure high-quality products. The position involves hands-on formulation work, handling raw materials, and performing chemical analyses to verify that both raw materials and finished products meet required specifications. The Chemical Operator plays a key role in scaling up products from experimental batches to production-ready formulations while maintaining strict adherence to standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities
+ Perform chemical manufacturing operations in strict accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
+ Execute batch schedules by preparing, mixing, and processing chemical formulations for product scale-up.
+ Handle, stage, and manage raw materials required for batch production.
+ Conduct experimental batch mixing to support process development and product scale-up activities.
+ Adjust experimental batch mixes as needed and document all changes until finished products meet defined specifications.
+ Test the quality of raw materials through chemical analysis to ensure they meet acceptance criteria before use in production.
+ Test the quality of in-process and finished products through chemical analysis to confirm compliance with specifications.
+ Sample, inspect, measure, and approve components and chemicals for production usage.
+ Inspect and approve finished products prior to release, ensuring they meet all quality and labeling requirements.
+ Collect, record, and process production and test data for analysis and continuous improvement.
+ Verify packaging weights and labeling for accuracy and completeness.
+ Monitor process parameters and equipment during batch operations and report any deviations or abnormalities.
+ Support process monitoring, solution preparation, and calciner-related activities as needed.
+ Collaborate with quality control and laboratory personnel to resolve issues related to batch quality and process performance.
+ Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all production activities, tests, and results in accordance with established procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Previous experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
+ Hands-on experience with formulations and mixing batches of chemicals.
+ Experience in chemical operating and batch making in a manufacturing or pilot-scale setting.
+ Ability to perform process monitoring during batch production.
+
Experience with quality control (QC) testing and chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products.
+ Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
+ Ability to collect, record, and process production and laboratory data accurately.
+ Strong attention to detail when sampling, inspecting, measuring, and approving components and products.
+ Capability to verify packaging weights and labeling with a high degree of accuracy.
+ Comfort working with laboratory and production equipment used for mixing, solution preparation, and related processes.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience in a pilot-scale chemical manufacturing environment.
+ Background as a laboratory technician (Lab Tech) supporting production or QC activities.
+
Experience with solution preparation and calciner operations.
+ Ability to interpret and follow detailed written instructions and batch records.
+ Strong documentation skills for recording experimental changes and results.
+ No professional certifications or licenses are required for this role.
Work Environment
This position operates in a pilot-scale manufacturing environment focused on chemical production and scale-up activities. The role involves working with mixing equipment, solution preparation systems, and other production and laboratory tools to support batch manufacturing and process monitoring. The position follows a third shift schedule, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The environment emphasizes adherence to SOPs and GMPs, careful handling of chemicals and raw materials, and close collaboration with quality control and laboratory teams to ensure safe and consistent operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Conshohocken, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
