Hatchery Laborer
City of Altoona, PA
Job DescriptionThe Hatchery Laborer will work in a poultry hatchery environment, performing tasks such as cleaning incubators, sorting chicks, loading hatched chicks into trucks for delivery, administering vaccinations, and maintaining overall hatchery operations.
Schedule- Daylight Crew:
Sunday—Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., plus occasional additional hours as needed. - Transfer Crew:
Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday. Shifts begin 7:00–9:00 a.m. and last approximately 10 hours.
- Ability to lift 40–60 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical and physical stamina suitable for a hatchery setting.
