Manufacturing Engineer I
It is the responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer I to provide assistance and technical expertise for the manufacturing operations in support of the company objective of developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing process and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles.
Duties and Responsibilities- Support and solve technical manufacturing issues.
- Implement Quality Control requirements in coordination with the Quality Department.
- Document and submit product improvements as appropriate.
- Improve product quality and reduce manufacturing costs by maximizing efficiencies and developing optimum procedures.
- Assure the ability to cost effectively manufacture new products before market introduction.
- Develop and maintain SOP's for all manufacturing processes in accordance with established formats.
- Develop and maintain effective procedures to help ensure that all product routings are complete, accurate, and reflect the company's lean thinking initiatives.
- Reduce existing manufacturing lead times.
- Reduce manufacturing lot sizes to gain reductions in overall inventory levels.
- Reduce materials movement in our manufacturing process.
- Integrate new product development with manufacturing processes to reduce the time in which we can introduce new products.
- Plan, develop, justify and submit Capital Equipment Requests (CER's) required for new machines and other capital expenditures required for manufacturing.
- Adhere to and be a leader in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience is required.
- Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with Solidworks/CAD is preferred.
- SAP experience is a plus.
- Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access experience is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry is required.
- Ability to read blueprints from manual and auto cad documents is required.
- Travel, including driving and overnight stays, is occasionally required.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Mechatronics or fluid power certification or willingness to obtain is desired.
Other Requirements:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent knowledge of ERP software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
