Job Summary

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Mixer Machine and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities include assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, inventory data‑entry and cross‑training into other job functions as needed. The position requires routine attendance at departmental, production, safety and company meetings.

Essential (≈45%) and Secondary duties are represented in the following tasks.

• Set‑up, operate, troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to the mixer machine following established procedures and guidelines with minimal supervision.
• Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the mixer and press area.
• Review order and verify all EPDM & formulas are correct / match.
• Gather all necessary materials.
• Read / review formula, weigh out materials and place in auger.
• Pump oil & water as necessary per formula specifications.
• Operate the mixer control panel and wait required time for mixture to complete.
• Pour mixture into mold, using chain crane to place lid and using hydraulic press to press mold to proper length.
• Operate scale, press, mold lift, hoists, and polymer system; clean as per manufacturer specification and SOP.
• Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines and continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Operate hoist, hydraulic press, bucket truck and fork truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean work environment by wiping down machine and cleaning work area with air hose after each order; operate grinding machine as necessary; report maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department.
• Transfer and separate EPDM bags per mold specification; open bags and pour into hopper.
• Utilize computer at workstation to login, enter / review production data and work orders as required.
• Provide constant communication with management staff concerning the production status of high‑end quality oriented materials.
• Cross‑train into other job functions providing assistance as necessary within the department.

• High School Diploma / GED or 4 years of machine operator / manufacturing experience required.
• English fluency (read, write, speak); ability to communicate well (written / verbal).
• Forklift certification / experience desired; bucket truck experience preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience required; previous machine specific experience preferred.
• Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment, attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands.
• Read and understand units of measure.
• Ability to perform basic math functions.
• Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred.
• Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner.
• Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements.
• Able to safely perform related physical requirements and demands of the role.

• Manufacturing environment with high‑pressure air / steam / gas, hazardous fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment, and/or dust (pigment). PPE required includes safety glasses, steel‑toe / composite boots and earplugs.

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Exert up to 130 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Manual dexterity required to move material and operate equipment.
• Effective communication (written, spoken) with supervisors and others on performance and safety concerns.
• Adequate hearing to receive work instructions and respond to changes.
• Attention to detail to complete work assignments.
• Time management to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity requirements.
• Ability to understand and abide by safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
