Position: Utility Worker III - US
Location: Delaware Water Gap

Utility Worker III – Delaware Water Gap, PA – 6 Months

Must be flexible to work all shifts:

1st Shift: 7am – 3pm
2nd Shift: 3pm – 11pm
3rd Shift: 11pm – 7am

If selected candidates are late or NCNS, they will be terminated immediately. No exceptions.

Position Summary

These entry-level positions provide labor for various tasks around the mill including picking up paper, operating forklifts, cleaning, etc. They fill in for vacancies in entry level positions as needed. Must be able to carry/lift 50 lbs. Candidates with previous experience operating forklifts or other mobile equipment are preferred, but that experience is not necessary for consideration. This is a rotating shift position and membership in the Union is required after 90 days.

Job Functions

Participates in the safety program and works to exceed all safety standards and requirements mandated by the plant and OSHA.

Maintain general housekeeping around the mill, including but not limited to dumping hoppers/trash, cleaning floors and walls, and general cleanliness of the mill.

Assist with housekeeping audit action items as directed by the area owner.

Assist with general duties in dry end / wet end as required, which may include using overhead crane to move rolls, cutting of cores, slabbing rolls and banding slabs to prepare for transport to trailer.

Use forklift as required to move broke, supplies, etc.

Keep supplies stocked in areas throughout the mill.

Knowledge and understanding of mill training system, policies, and processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Education

HS Graduate or equivalent.

Required Skills

Ability to use tools/equipment such as forklift, simple hand tools, clamp truck, yard tractor, banding machine, utility knife, roll pusher.

Preferred Skills

Heights, confined space, ability to lift 50 lbs and carry up to 25 lbs.
