Job Purpose

Responsible for MIG & TIG welding. Accountable for all results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Safety

• Ensure safe workplace and follow all safety rules
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, shoes, etc.)
• Report all accidents & any safety issues to Supervisor or Safety manager

Quality

• Follow all SOP’s & quality standards, maintain Welding Procedure Specifications
• Inspects & tests weld structure & surfaces to discover flaws
• Inspect parts, secure 2 nd verification, verify dimensions, etc., per work order
• Detect & report defective materials to Supervisor
• Manufacture parts per Router / work instruction requirements
• Report all required information & report router discrepancies

Training

• Participate in relevant training activities
• Work with Supervisor, leader, mentor to learn Pulverman processes & procedures

Productivity

• Report productivity (setup & run) accurately
• Report good material & scrap accurately
• Work with Supervision to implement productivity improvements (daily)
• Work with Supervision to implement setup reduction strategies

Equipment

• Set up welding machines to ensure optimal performance
• Monitors equipment to ensure proper settings
• Report all maintenance issues and work to resolve
• Maintain equipment & conduct required Operator preventative maintenance

Communication

• Provide feedback to Management team for ideas & improvements
• Express ideas & thoughts verbally in a positive & productive manner

Workflow

• Set up welding machines
• MIG & TIG weld steel, aluminum & stainless based upon specifications
• Join & fabricate components to customer requirements
• De-bur & grind metal to achieve proper surface texture
• Read & interpret blueprints & drawings to layout jobs
• Pay close attention to detail & focus on job at hand
• Cooperate, support co-workers and be a strong team player
• Be reliable and adhere to attendance policy
• Maintain organization and housekeeping
• Perform other duties as requested

Physical

Requirements

• Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, eye protection & safety shoes
• Lift, carry, push or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently
• Squat / kneel, bend, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead & outward
• Sit, stand and walk for 1 to 8 hours per day
• Ability to work in hot & cold work environment depending on time of year
• Work in an environment with concrete floors
• Work safely in a constantly changing work environment
• Work with tools, including small hand tools, cutters, pliers, grinders, etc.
• Handle & work safely around material and parts with burrs, sharp edges, etc.

Qualifications

• High School Education or higher
• Able to read & interpret customer drawings
